It is my pleasure to inform you that I have received the first experimental license for 600 and 60m bands in Croatia, both VFO based.
- 600m - 493 - 510 kHz - A1A mode only
- 60m - 5.260 - 5.410 kHz - all modes
The license is effective immediately for a period of one year. I will be on the air on 60m ASAP, and on 600m when my equipment will be ready. |

Six months after bringing V53ARC online, the second WSPR beacon in Africa got into service. 5X7JD went online today. The beacon is hosted by Jack, 5X7JD who is located in Masaka, Uganda.
The system has 1W output and cycles through 80,40,30,20,17,15,12 and 10m, so one can hear the WSPR signal returning every 16 minutes. Antenna is an HyGain Av 18VS multi-band vertical. The beacon hardware is an embedded system based on a PIC 18F2455 MCU, an Analog AD9851 DDS chip and a MOSFET PA with selectable filters. Time and location information are derived from an attached GPS receiver. This beacons will be available as a kit soon and we are looking for hosts in interesting locations. Milan, OK1IF has received permission to use 5258,5 to 5261,5 kHz for CW and SSB experimental operation. The permitted output power is 100 W. The licence is valid through December 31st, 2010. |

The Interim Meeting of the IARU Region 1 HF Committee (C4) and the VHF/UHF/Microwave Committee (C5) will take place over the period 19 to 21 February 2010 in Vienna, Austria. The various papers to be discussed have been distributed - HF papers via the IARU R1 HF Managers mailing list and VHF/UHF/Microwave via the IARU R1 C5 mailing list.
